~To Market, To Market~

I got up early this morning so I could hit our local market.  Its not very big with probably only about 15 - 20 stall depending on the weather and its pretty much the same ones each week so there is not alot of change.    I was on a mission today to pick up  my birdbath from a local maker who attends the market most weeks.

Found my statue lady straight away and paid her  so I wouldn't be tempted to spend the money and then did the regulation two laps.....cause you never know what you might miss on the first lap.  It was a wrought iron day today.  First find was a wrought iron stand with 3 graduating baskets...next was a wrought iron hanging candle holder for $1 but I had to give it a serious clean as it came with bugs at that price..ewww, then a wrought iron stand of some sort...looks to be old...victorian maybe with its delightful twists in the sides....but I am going to use it as a plant stand and last was a very heavy metal urn complete with rust.  I love rusty items.  So I had a great day and all I spent was $59.

~Pink Saturday Market Finds~

~Finally got motivated early last Sunday and headed off to the local Markets.  They are not very big ..maybe 30 stalls tops consisting mostly of 2nd hand goods and a few produce stalls.  Found two beautiful things...an unknown dish which appeals purely on its shape and colour-Pink of course and a rather ratty looking silver plated jug that was in need of a clean just so I could see how bad it was..but it was only a $1.00 so I had nothing to lose....here are my treasures....

~Last night I went to another market and found these two gorgeous new items at bargain prices~
Good week all round at the markets.

~Pink Saturday~

Its that lovely day of the week when we pop over to Miss Beverleys @ How Sweet The Sound for a pinkalicious day.

I had a  fabulous Easter Weekend away spent at a shack on the beach in a town called Wallaroo with great friends.  And it was a real treat to wake up early every morning and go for a 4 km walk (something I am never motivated to do a home) on the beach and watch the sun rise.  Hope you have a fantastic Easter.

~Sunday Markets~

Well to say my day started early is an understatemnt.  I was awoken by a phonecall from my daughter to say she and her friend were stranded in the city.  Their ride home never showed...so good old mum to the rescue.....that was at 3.15am.  A round trip to the city from where we live is approx 2 hours.  By the time I got home with a macca's latte in hand I was wide awake so I thought...blog hopping time.
So at 7.45 off to the markets I trotted (onto my 4th coffee by this time)   The markets here are not very good but a found a few little treasures to share with you.
Im not a big jewellery person but the sparkle off these in the sunshine caught my eye...and off course they are  pink  so whats not to love.

How cute is this little crown brooch.  It had my name on it (I swear) well thats what I am gonna tell hubby when he asks why on earth I bought that.  Isn't it delightful.

Another  Pink find is this darling little pin dish with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers in the center and gold rim.

My bargain of the day...a Pink Pagoda Crystal perfume bottle for 50 cents.  Although a little worse for wear with several flea bites on the outside of the lid it, it is definitly a bargain.  I have one of these already in clear glass which is listed in Carters Antique guide with a price of $150.00 USD (if memory serves me right)and to find one in pink is just a yummy find...flea bites and all.

Next on the bargain list is this pretty hand painted plate from Japan and signed by the artist.  Huge Pink roses and a gold rim...what more could a girl ask for.

My last bargain for the morning was this pretty very very tarnished silver vase in the shape of a trumpet flower.  I have decided to give this a clean just to see how well it comes up.  Its quite heavy and perfect for the pink rose bud I will pick later to place in it.
Well thats it for my bargains from the market...I will post a piccy of the vase later when its had a polish.
Have a perfect Shabby Sunday.

~Market Finds~

Decided to get motivated really earyly this morning to make it to the local Sunday Market.  I havent been there is since it moved to a new location...which to say is years.   Soooooo glad I did.  While most of what was there was junk is an understatement and it reminded me why I stopped going...this morning was my lucky day......I found a diamond in the rough..well two actually.  I could not believe my luck when I found this stunning vase for $2.00 and this little carriage clock for $3.00.  Although the clock is battery run it is very heavy and a little bit shabby (just the way I like it)  I still cant get over my luck in securing this stunning vase..it is a delight...and I must admit my new prised possesion.  There is apparently another market on Wednesday held just outta town so I may even give that one a go as well.

I finally got my sewing cabinet into my office and tucked it into a corner...not much room but at least I have somewhere to sew again.  The shelves above used to hold all my computer programs but with a bit of a shuffle I managed to squeeze them into a cupboard so I can place a few of my sewing bits and pieces on the shelves now.
I forgot I had this sweet little doll figurine, she is actually a very vintage tape measure and the metal around her belly if magnetic to hold pins.
I have had a very productive Sunday, but I think finding the vase was the best part of the day.
