~Learning New Skills~

This week I have been rearranging my sewing room and trying to make it better organised, and with more room to move around and less tripping stuff on the floor.  I have a system when I finish a project I do a really good clean so that everything is put away and I have a clean work area to start the next idea.....I have also been trying to learn Tunisian Crochet by watching YouTube videos.  Dont you just love how you can learn just about anything on the internet..
Thank you to Beverley from How Sweet The Sound for hosting.

~In The Sewing Room~

~I find it really hard to cut up pretty  fabrics......I tend to hoard them as well.  I have a piece of Donna Dewberry fabric that I have been hoarding forever that I have never had the heart to use....maybe  its time to sell it on so that someone else can either hoard ir or actually use it to make something~

~A Beautiful Gift~

I have been very fortunate to have the nicest neighbours around me.  While we don't live in each others pockets nor do we socialise with them, we do often have friendly chats over the fence or water their gardens if they are away and generally just keep an eye out on each others property.
One set of my neighbours is forever changing her decor and always offers me her cast offs before she throws them out or gives them to charity.  To say I have been very fortunate is an understaement....her taste is amazing and her home is full of very beautiful pieces, both vintage and new.  This week she has given me a beautiful Aubusson rug........her kindness and generosity is beyond measure.....so I thought this rug is perfect for sharing on  Pink Saturday .

~Pink Saturday Pinks~

I was determined to have a post for Pink Saturday last week and the week before that and the one before that, but life has a way of turning things on its head. So this week I decided to find a bit of me time and post some pretties from my home .  Thank you to the lovely Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for being host as always.

~Cold Wet Saturday~

Winter is definitely here.....we have had heavy rainfall for the last few day and everything looks dark and dreary.  Its even too dark for photos inside....and I hate using a flash so this weeks pretties will be photos from the past.   I do love winter though because it means more sewing time and I get alot of things done inside that I normally put off for time out in the sunshine in the warmer months.  It also means more pinning time on Pinterest....my other addiction.  If you want to check out my Pinterest boards you will find them here: ~Shabby Delights ~ Pinterest

~Dining Room China Cabinet~

~Washing the china usually happens about every 3 months and takes me anything up to 3 days to complete (because I have tooo much).  The Australian climate is very harsh on delicate vintage china and must be done to avoid crazing~

~One of my favourite musical Bols bottles~

~These jugs were my mums but there use to be 3 in the set and now only the smaller two have survived.  My mum used to use these to heat up my bottles in when I was a baby and the small chintz pin dish belonged to my nanna~

~Pink Saturday~

The weeks pass so quickly....its been two weeks since my last post.  I have been busy in the garden getting ready for Winter.....just tidying up in wait for all the dreaded weeds that will be popping up shortly.   I am looking forward to spending more time in the Sewing room and being creative when the cold wet days of winter arrive.
I thought I would share with you a couple of vintage sewing things I have had forever.  Thank you to Beverley from How sweet The Sound for being hostess as always,

~Where does all the time go~

Life has been very hectic around here and not with any thing in particular but just everything.
Its usually Sunday before I realised I have missed Pink Saturday, so this week I am writing on Friday so I don't miss out.
I managed to get a little bit of sewing done today but I doubt I will be ready for a Mothers day Market I was planning on doing.  I may have to open a shop on my fb page ~ShAbBy PrIm DeLiGhTs~ instead.
I have dragged in my old embroidery machine which I am embarrassed to admit has been in storage since 2005....only to discover all the software for it is on floppies and the instruction video on VHS.  Hopefully I can find everything for it online because I have totally forgotten how to use it.
I will keep this short and sweet....thank you as always to the lovely Beverly from How Sweet The Sound for being hostess.
Have a great weekend and a HAPPY PINK SATURDAY
