~A Beautiful Gift~

I have been very fortunate to have the nicest neighbours around me.  While we don't live in each others pockets nor do we socialise with them, we do often have friendly chats over the fence or water their gardens if they are away and generally just keep an eye out on each others property.
One set of my neighbours is forever changing her decor and always offers me her cast offs before she throws them out or gives them to charity.  To say I have been very fortunate is an understaement....her taste is amazing and her home is full of very beautiful pieces, both vintage and new.  This week she has given me a beautiful Aubusson rug........her kindness and generosity is beyond measure.....so I thought this rug is perfect for sharing on  Pink Saturday .

Thankyou to Beverley from How Sweet The Sound for hosting each and every week.

  1. I have great neighbors that help me a lot, but never do things like this. You are very fortunate.

  7. What a lovely, thoughtful gift! To have good neighbours, you must be a good neighbour, too.

My husband and I have lived in our home for nearly 25 years. Our neighbour, George, loves to mow and he has been mowing our lawn for about 10 years - we haven't used our lawn mower in all that time!!!

And, when it snows, our neighbours snowblow us out before we have a chance to get out our own snowblower. In fact, on stormy mornings, when getting ready for work, the neighbours always beat us to the punch and have the driveway cleared of snow by 6:30 am!

My neighbour, Joanne, loves weeding and she organized a team of her gal pals to tend to my garden from June through September one year when I was going through chemo - I wrote about it and the story was published in Victoria magazine earlier this year in the special spring gardening issue!

If we ever decide to move, we would have to take our neighbours with us! So glad that you love where you live. A little thoughtfulness for others can surely make all the difference. XO

Thank you for your beautiful comment on my blog!

  8. Hi Michelle, Thank you for your comment on my turkey post. I am so late visiting this week.

I enjoyed reading your post so much. Having good neighbors is a blessing. Your gift of the beautiful rug is so special. The photos of your dining room are lovely. The rug is the perfect addition to such a charming room. I am sure you are a great neighbor as well.

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
