Do you ever look back and wonder where the time went? My life just seems to be so busy with nothing and everything, and I just dont seem to be actually aclomplishing anything either and yet things are still being done. Maybe thats just winter. We had a sneak peak at spring the other day with a beautiful sunny 23C and I just couldnt stay inside. I managed to weed a large section of the garden, hung the washing in the sun instead of under cover and went for a long walk with my daughter. A most productive day indeed because the next day was back to winter.
I am having some decorating dilemas with my sideboard....just cant get it to look right....so any and all suggestions are welcome no matter what. If you can think of maybe what I should have eg books, teacups or offer links with ideas I would be most grateful. Please help if you can. Have a wonderful shabby weekend.
Your pink glassware is gorgeous!!! Nice to meet another glass lover!
ReplyDeleteOh, you have such beautiful things to work with. I would humbly suggest adding items of different textures, including some softness...also an editing eye--make a triangle of your depression glass that encompasses the whole surface rather than bunching together, that way the eye will travel the whole vignette instead of zeroing in on the glassware. But whatever you do it will be lovely!
ReplyDeleteBonsoir ~ Oh, you are so lucky to have all of that gorgeous glassware to work with! I love that shade of vintage glass. Although I'm no decorator, I think what you have is lovely! I might suggest something feminine draped over the top of the mirror, an old piece of lace or fabric, a thin feather boa perhaps? Hmmm...my imaginaton is running away again! I'm certain you'll find the perfect "Shabby Delightful" remedy. Happy decorating Mon Ami!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely collection of pink, thanks for sharing. Hope you have a fun pink weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous shares this evening. I love your pink glassware. It is SO pretty.
I would suggest something draped over the top of that mirror as well. Even an ivy would be pretty. As for the glassware, have you thought about putting any items in the bowls, pitchers and etc. to add a little texture and color to the pinks. It might make them pop a little more. A few little linens neatly folded would be beautiful on your 3 tier server. I collect tea balls, a few sprinkled about by your tea pot would be delightful.
I know whatever you do with this beautiful piece will be simply delightful. You have so many ideas to work with sweetie.
Have a glorious weekend, and keep us posted on your decorating. Country hugs from Phoenix, Sherry

ReplyDeleteI love your display. All I would do is tweak a few things. I like fabric draped over the mirror or even peaking from a drawer. I would add a small plate or pic or post card to the front of your plate, right in the stand with it. I always find books either altered or just pretty add alot of warmth. I happen to collect dolls, headvases, and most anything else that is cute or pretty. Always fills in for me. Of course flowers and greens breath life into our homes. Well I've probably told you more than you wanted to hear. I do hope some of the ideas will be fun for you to play with. As I've looked at your other posts, I know it will be beautiful.

ReplyDeletehI I am new to your blog, very pretty by the way. I think your side board is lovely, the pink depression glass is beautiful. May I suggest (If you have it) to add some green depression glass they set each other off so beautifully, one other thing if you have some plate stands and some beautiful plates with flowers painted on them it would add so much to your already lovely side board. TTFN P.S I would love to see it when it makes you smile
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain.
ReplyDeleteNice blog.
Have a good day
Hi...I am new to your blog...love the pink depression glass!! How beautiful, and how lucky you are to own it all!.....After reading all of the other suggestions, which I agree with, I would maybe add some crocheted doilies under the different glassware for some texture, and like someone suggested, add something to the bowls, etc. for more testure...maybe you need a bit more color to the lovely server...
ReplyDeleteHave a happy, pink weekend.....Francy
